Aerospace Quality AMS 5629 (S13800) is suitable for applications such as high tensile shafts, bolts and nuts, gears, pinions spindles and so on. Stock over 60 grades with a competitive price, along with cutting service for specific requirement.

Typical Applications

Aerospace Alloy AMS 5629 (UNS S13800) has been used typically for parts requiring corrosion resistance, stress-corrosion resistance, high strength up to 600F(316C),and good ductility and strength in the transverse direction in large section sizes, but usage is not limited to such applications.

Meltng Process Route

This alloy is generally smelt in Basic Electric Furnace (EAF, AOD) or VIM + Electroslag remelting (ESR). For a purpose of superior quality, it should be smelt via technology of vacuum refining or by agreement.

C (％): ≤ 0.05, Si (％): ≤ 0.10, Mn (％): ≤ 0.10, P (％) ≤: 0.010, S (％) ≤: 0.008

Cr (％): 12.25 ~ 13.25, Ni (％): 7.50 ~ 8.50, Al (%): 0.90 ~ 1.35, Mo (%): 2.00 ~ 2.50

N (%): ≤ 0.010, Fe (%): Remainder

Mechanical Properties Under Room Temperature

Shapes: bar, flat bars and forgings

Heat treatment condition: H1150 (620℃)

Tensile strength, σb/MPa: 1207 MPa Max. for wire

Tensile strength, σb/MPa: 930

Yield strength, σ0.2/MPa: 620

Elongation, δ(％): 14.0

Reduction of area, ф (％): 50.0

Hardness under annealed condition | HBW: 363 max.

Heat treatment condition: H1025 (550℃)

Tensile strength, σb/MPa: 1276

Yield strength, σ0.2/MPa: 1207

Elongation, δ(％): 11.0
