DUPLEX STAINLESS STEEL / CHARACTERS
Duplex (ferrite-austenite) stainless steels maintain properties both ferritic steel and austenitic steel and possess the feature of superplasticity, which have each half austenitic and ferritic structures. Under the circumstances of lower carbon content, chromium content 18% ~ 28%, Nickel content 3%~10%. Some other steels contain the alloy elements - Mo, Cu, Si, Nb, Ti, N and so on. Those steels possess the properties of austenite and ferrite steels. Compared with ferritic steels, duplex stainless steels have good plasticity and toughness, non-room temperature fragility, intergranular corrosion resistance and weldability, and also maintain the features of ferritic stainless steel 475℃ frangibility, a higher heat conductivity coefficient, superplasticity. Compared with austenitic stainless steel, duplex stainless steel possess high strength, intergranular corrosion resistance and excellent chloride stress corrosion resistant. and also superior pitting resistance. they take as a stainless steel of nickel saving.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The alloy is usually produced by AOD / VOD /VIM followed by electroslag refining (ESR) / VAR if necessary for special purpose.
Bars and, where applicable, forgings are subjected to ultrasonic examination based on the different levels according to the buyers' requirements.
Bars are usually supplied black/bright in the annealed condition.
Final heat treatment - solution treatment
HEAT TREATMENT PRACTICE
Heat treatment is only suitable for specific grades of
stainless steel. When heat treating a stainless the hardening temperatures, including rate of heating, cooling and soaking times will vary due to several factors such as the shape and size of each component. Other considerations during the heat treatment process include the type of furnace, quenching medium and work piece transfer facilities. Please consult with the heat treatment provider for whole guidance on heat treatment of stainless steel grades. We are delighted to help to work with you the special heat treatment based on your special requirements.
