S143 is defined as a low carbon precipitation hardening martensitic stainless steel, displaying characteristics of both austenitic and martensitic steels, round bar, flat bar stock available

S143 is designated as a martensitic stainless steel and also known as FV520 (precipitation hardening) stainless steel. S143 displays an excellent material for last-stage turbine blades, where high mechanical strength, good fatigue resistance, and reliable performance at elevated temperatures are critical.
Its corrosion resistance also makes it suitable for the harsh, high-moisture environment typical of steam turbines.
